The Stage
The courtyard of the Fair will feature a lineup of music, poetry, and performance organized in collaboration with Lydo Le of X-TRA.SERVICES. Founded in 2017 by Lydo, X-TRA.SERVICES is a label that curates a subaquatic space for extraterrestrial sound.
Madeline Stepien
Madeline Stepien is a composer and artist based in New York City. Her work explores sound as a tool of perceptual and emotional manipulation. Operating under the alias “pent” from 2020-2024, she developed her practice through a plethora of live performances & recorded material that range from live interventions in club environments to fixed media installations.
Kaur Alia Ahmed
Kaur Alia Ahmed is an artist and writer living in New York. He likes to destabilize language, handling it in similar ways to ink, skin and light. His work has been presented at Alyssa Davis Gallery, Entrance Gallery, and the Drawing Center, among others. His poems can be found in the Poetry Project Newsletter, Spoil Magazine, baest Journal, Bomb Magazine, Rhizome, and his first manuscript, Cursive Paradise, was released this June with Wendy's Subway.
Early Shinada
Early Shinada is an interdisciplinary artist and writer whose work convenes collective moments of witness around live relays of history Through writing, performance, and installation they interrogate histories of change—the technological to the ecological and spiritual—to locate fulcrums of possibility in the belief that the future is never closed.
8ULENTINA + NANA XOXO + ROHANA
8ULENTINA, Nana XOXO, and Rohana perform together as an experimental improvisational ensemble, combining their individual sonic practices. Through fissures of diction and phonics drawn from insurgent, anticolonial archives, their collaborative sets activate performance’s potential to invite disjunction in material history and collective memory.Alongside their performance at Printed Matter Art Book fair they will be releasing a cassette of their first performance from SILLAGE (November 2024) at the Fair.
